Glenwood Maryland is a small unincorporated city located in western Howard County. The community is situated in a rural-esk setting in the middle of Baltimore and Washington D.C. Because of Glenwoods superb location to the most attractive economic cities on the east coast, Glenwood attracts some of the most influential and talented people to call this community home.
History
Glenwood was a part of Anne Arundel County as was all of Howard County before it became its own county. Glenwood was settled in the early 1800s for the purpose of farming and managing large tobacco plantations. Glenwood's original families that established the area and worked the plantation real estate was the Warfield's and Ridgley's. After the civil war in 1874, the Glenwood postal stop opened and the area was officially named Glenwood.
